Roma Education Fund announces scholarships for Romani college students

Are you a college student, or a high school senior planning to continue your
studies? Are you Romani? Are you interested in a scholarship for the 2013/2014
academic year?

The Roma Education Fund Scholarship Program (Romský vzdělávací fond) (REF SP)
calls on interested Romani students from the Czech Republic to apply as part of
the Roma Memorial University Scholarship Program (RMUSP). Students in
undergraduate, graduate or doctoral programs who study at state-accredited
colleges in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech
Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Russia,
Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey and Ukraine may apply for scholarships.

All information and instructions regarding the REF SP for the 2013/2014
academic year, as well as eligibility and selection criteria, are published on
the website of the Roma Education Fund in Czech, English, and 12 other national

The scholarship program is designed to cover examination fees, textbook
purchases, and some costs of living associated with study. The scholarship
amount is calculated from a baseline of EUR 80 per academic month. During the
2012/2013 academic year, 44 applicants were awarded scholarships.

Applications may be submitted only in electronic form through the online
application, which you will find on the official website of the Roma Education
Fund. The online application has been translated into Czech.

PLEASE NOTE – the deadline for applying is 20 May 2013! Applications
may not be submitted after the deadline!!!

The coordinator of the scholarship program in the Czech Republic is the ROMEA
