Detectives investigating Monday’s arson attack in Býchory, Kolín district say that one of the defendants was also the organizer of a concert of racist music (so-called “white power” music) in the town of Velký Osek last Saturday. Also today, the District Court in Kolín found no reason to remand any of the defendants in the case into custody.

The defendants have all been released on their own recognizance. Pavel Truxa of the preventive information department of the Central Bohemian Regional Police has confirmed this information to news server Romea.cz.

The media have reported that some of the arson suspects attended an ultra-right concert in Velký Osek on Saturday evening along with 200 right-wing extremists. According to news server iHNED.cz, one of the four men arrested in connection with Monday’s arson was in fact the organizer of the Saturday concert. The news server determined this after asking Kolín detective Marek Jirouš who specifically convened the event. “Yes, I can confirm that person was the organizer of a concert of bands close to the extreme right that took place last Saturday in Velký Osek,” Jirouš said.
