Czech Human Rights Minister Jiří Dienstbier, Czech Interior Minister Milan Chovanec, and Czech Labor Minister Michaela Marksová Tominová (all Czech Social Democratic Party – ČSSD) will be visiting the Šluknov district next Monday. The ministers will be addressing the problems of socially excluded localities together with the mayors of local municipalities.

The mayors recently called on the Government to address the situation in the region. The local politicians said they are concerned that anti-Romani demonstrations will resume in northern Bohemia in the run-up to elections.

"I have asked three cabinet members to visit the Šluknov foothills as soon as possible and to inform the Government of the situation," Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka (ČSSD) said today. Dienstbier then told the Czech News Agency that the trip should take place next Monday.
