This past Sunday evening, two ethnic Czechs riding a nighttime service bus in Plzeň began shouting Nazi slogans and giving the Nazi salute. When another passenger shouted back at them, they assaulted him, bashing his head against the glass of the rear window and going on to vulgarly insult another passenger of Vietnamese origin. The Plzeňský deník reports that police who were called to the scene intervened.

Municipal police officers arrested the two men. “The patrolmen arrested two youths who were shouting Nazi greetings and raising their right arms. The youths then assaulted a man who shouted back at them, banging his head against the rear window of the bus. They also verbally insulted a passenger of Vietnamese nationality,” Jana Pužmanová, spokesperson for the Plzeň Police, summarized the young neo-Nazis’ nighttime spree.

The case has been assessed as one of felony rioting and supporting and promoting a movement aimed at suppressing human rights and freedoms. The Plzeňský deník reports that detectives are currently investigating further.
