Czech Romanies allegedly set extreme rightist ablaze

Two Czech Romanies today tried to set ablaze the chairman of the local organisation of the extreme rightist National Front (NS) in the town, NS webpage said.

Local police spokeswoman Marie Pivkova told CTK that the police were checking the case.

According to the webpage, the two men had waited for the man on a house staircase. Upon his arrival, they poured some combustible substance on his head and shoulders and then lit it.

The police have no detailed information about the case, Pivkova said, adding that the man had his hair singed and he had extinguished the fire with his sweatshirt.
