Exhibition in NY Czech Centre shows successful Czech Romanies
During his visits of Czech Romanies, Wyatt discovered not only excellent musicians but also successful entrepreneurs, educators, lawyers, physicians and politicians. His collection includes portraits of a Romany priest, a police officer, civic activists and journalists.
Wyatt has close ties to the Czech Republic because of his wife with whom he travelled to Prague in 1993 when she came to search for her family's Czech roots.
Wyatt's portrait collection has already been on display in the Czech Republic as well as the United States and Austria.
Monika Koblerova, head of the Czech Centre, said that the centre wants to focus on Romany issues more than before.
