Mastermind of Paris assassinations was killed during police raid on Wednesday

The alleged main organizer of the terrorist attacks in France, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, was killed during a police raid on Wednesday of the Parisian suburb of Saint-Denis, according to the Paris Prosecutor. "Abdelhamid Abaaoud was formally identified. He was killed during the police raid," reads the prosecutor's press release.

The prosecutor said terrorist's body sustained gunfire during the raid by police officers and soldiers. Abaaoud's cousin, Hasna Aitboulacen, died during the raid also when she exploded a suicide vest.

During Friday's terrorist attacks in Paris 129 people died and another 350 were injured. CNN reported on 20 November that Friday's death toll has risen to 130 and that a third person died during Wednesday's raid.

Yesterday the European Roma Rights Centre (ERRC) sent an open letter addressed to Czech President Zeman and objecting to recent comments he made about Romani people when he was speaking last week in the Olomouc Region - Zeman alleged that exactly the Romani residents of the particular community he was visiting constitute their population of unemployed people, which the ERRC believes was a racist characterization. Zeman went on to allege that during the communist regime, Romani people "had to work" and were imprisoned if they refused to do so.

Czech Republic: RomanoNet launches campaign to get out the Romani vote - "ME DŽAV! A so tu?"

RomanoNet, an organization based in the Czech Republic, launched a campaign at the end of August called ME DŽAV! A so tu? ("I'M GOING! Are you?"). The aim is to activate Romani voters and motivate them to participate in the local elections this coming weekend.
