The Slovak police on Wednesday accused further two Czechs of extremism in relation to an attack on a group of Romanies during New Year’s Eve celebrations in Krupina, central Slovakia, regional police spokeswoman Maria Faltaniova told CTK today.

The two men, aged 23 and 26, were not accused of taking part in the attack, but of promotion of groups tending to suppress fundamental rights and freedoms because they wore rings with Nazi symbols. They face up to three years in prison if found guilty, Faltaniova said.

The Slovak police have already accused two Slovaks and one Czechs of the attack on Romanies. Five Czechs and several Slovaks were questioned over the incident.

The police say the extremists threatened the Romanies with beating them up unless they leave the celebrations, and shouted Nazi slogans.

When the Romanies did not leave, the extremists physically attacked them. Two of the Romanies suffered lighter injuries.
