30.10.2018 8:30 The 10th annual Prize of the Museum of Romani Culture has been given by the Czech Public Defender of Rights, Anna Šabatová and museum director Jana Horváthová to the Romani activist David Tišer. The 34-year-old graduated in Romani Studies from the Faculty of Arts at Charles University and for more than 10 years has been dedicated to educating social workers, students and teachers, most frequently on the subject of Romani people's sociocultural specificities and on how to break down prejudices and stereotypes  full story

22.10.2017 14:41 The Romani candidates who sought seats in the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic have not succeeded. That means the Czech lower house still has not one Romani representative.

12.8.2017 11:33 On Friday 11 August at 20:00 a vernissage for the exhibition entitled "Gays, don't touch the Roma flag!" ("Teplí, na romskou vlajku nesahat!") was held as part of the Prague Pride festival in the Phundrado Vudar Gallery. The ARA ART organization used the opportunity to respond to the homophobic posts that began to appear in the Czech-language online social media after a photograph was posted of Romani gays and lesbians holding the Romani flag.  full story

Čeněk Růžička: It's strange for LGBT people to hold the rainbow and Romani flags while speaking of Roma pride

24.6.2017 13:16 At the beginning of June the third international conference on upholding the human rights of LGBTI members of the Romani community was held in Strasbourg, France, co-
organized by the Prague-based ARA ART association, whose director, David Tišer, is an activist, artist, and Romani Studies scholar who is a member of both the LGBTI and the Romani communities. Tišer posted a photo of the Romani people attending the conference holding both the international rainbow flag of the LGBT community and the international Romani flag to his Facebook profile.  full story
