RomArchive Kicks Off with a Festival in Berlin

Prague LGBT Pride festival is underway, Roma organizing Hot Chocolate stage at the post-parade party

11.8.2017 8:17 On 7 August, the seventh annual Prague Pride festival celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual (LGBT) persons began with events and exhibitions. More than 100 cultural, discussion, social and sports events were on offer this week, and it will all culminate in the traditional Saturday march through the center of the Czech capital.  full story

26.7.2017 5:40 On Saturday 22 July 2017 the 13th annual Multicolored Festival (Různobarevný festival) in the Czech town of Trmice near Ústí nad Labem took place. The festival was organized by the local Romani organization Romano jasnica and the main star this year was the Czechoslovak-Romani rapper Rytmus, but lovers of classical Romani folk music came to see their genre represented as well.  full story

Czech Republic's 2017 Ghettofest to feature Amaro Records music stage, an Anne Frank corner, and readings in a former prison

8.6.2017 9:46 The multi-genre street fair known as the Ghettofest annually opens up the locality around Brno's Bratislavská and Cejl streets - this year it is changing its usual backdrop, thanks to the closure of Francouzská Street, and is offering its program at the Hvězdička Park, in the spaces of a former prison, and at the Museum of Romani Culture. 19th annual KHAMORO festival in Prague: Conferences, exhibitions, football - and music

KHAMORO (“Sun” in Romanes) brings contemporary and traditional Romani music here annually, including top Gypsy jazz players, many workshops, exhibitions, film screenings, theater performances, a défilé (parade) by performers through the center of Prague, and many other special treats.

Germany: Berlinale Film Festival opens with film about Django Reinhardt

Czech Republic: Romani faithful gather for traditional pilgrimage
