Slovak ultra-right MP tried for extremism after making xenophobic remarks about Roma

6.3.2018 7:19 The trial began on Monday, 26 February of Slovak MP Milan Mazurek from the ultra-right "Kotleba-People's Party Our Slovakia" (LSNS) for his xenophobic remarks about Romani people, among other matters. Although the MP faces possible prison time and the loss of his seat in the legislature, he refused to testify in court.  full story

Activists call on Pope Francis not to extend Czech Cardinal Duka's term because of his nationalist tendencies

Slovak Government wants battle against extremism to be more effective

18.8.2016 13:50 Yesterday the Slovak Government approved proposing amendments to the criminal law and the code of criminal procedure in order to more effectively battle manifestations of extremism. The Slovak Justice Ministry announced that only one court will render decisions about such crimes in future, among other innovations.  full story

Ireland: Mob attacks Romani-occupied building

Norway: Reconstruction of government offices damaged by ultra-right terrorism

Germany: Schäuble calls the French FN a fascist party

3.6.2014 22:53, (ROMEA) The ultra-right Front National (FN), which has won the EP elections in France, was called extremist and fascist on Tuesday, 27 May by German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble. FN vice-chair Florian Philippot then responded by demanding that French President François Hollande summon the German ambassador to Paris to demand an explanation.  full story
