Slovak MP charged with insulting Romani people and inciting hatred on the radio

7.12.2017 6:20 Milan Mazurek, a Slovak MP with the neo-Fascist "People's Party Our Slovakia" (Ľudové strany Naše Slovensko - ĽSNS), which is led by the former Governor of the Banská Bystrica Region, Marián Kotleba, has been charged because of remarks he made against Romani people during an interview last year for the Frontinus radio station in Žilina. The radio station, moreover, violated the ban on inciting hatred and was fined EUR 15 000 over the broadcast.  full story

Slovak President Kiska calls on voters to remove Fascists from office

5.9.2017 11:08 Slovak President Andrej Kiska gave a speech in Banská Bystrica last week to celebrate the anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising in which he sharply objected to the ultra-right party "Ľudová strana Naše Slovensko Mariana Kotleby" (Marian Kotleba's People's Party Our Slovakia - LSNS), which holds seats in the national legislature and the governorship of the Banská Bystrica Region. "I believe it is our duty to do more than just commemorate the bravery of our forebears one day a year and lay flowers at the memorials to the fallen. At a time when Nazi and Fascist ideologies are growing unscrupulously in our country, it is not enough recall the past and to make speeches," he said.  full story

Slovak Police charge politician with extremism

30.7.2017 6:00 News server Plus JEDEN DEŇ reported on 28 July that police in Slovakia have charged Marian Kotleba, the head of the ultra-right party "Kotleba-People's Party Our Slovakia" (LSNS), with extremism. In March he gave a socially vulnerable family a check for EUR 1 488, which is a number with a neo-Nazi code meaning.  full story

Facebook blocks fascist party's official profile, including Slovak politician's personal page

24.4.2017 6:47 At the start of April the Facebook social network began blocking the official profile of the fascist party called "Kotleba-People's Party Our Slovakia" (Kotleba –Ľudová strana Naše Slovensko) and several other pages administered by its supporters, including the profile of party chair Marián Kotleba. Other blocked Facebook pages include, for example, the profile of Slovak MP Milan Mazurek, who is the vice-chair of the ĽSNS, and Milan Uhrík, the probable candidate for the party in Nitra, where he plans to run for Regional Governor.  full story

Slovak party's donation to families in need reflects hidden Nazi symbolism in the amount - EUR 1488

28.3.2017 17:47 The neo-Nazi party in Slovakia chaired by Marián Kotleba, the "People's Party - Our Slovakia" (Ľudová strana Naše Slovensko - ĽSNS) has taken advantage of the 14 March anniversary of the rise of the Fascist Slovak State, which collaborated with Hitler's Germany, to donate money to three families, and the amount donated is reflective of Nazi symbolism. Slovak MP Milan Uhrík (ĽSNS) was asked by the Slovak news server TVnoviny.sk whether the amount of EUR 1488 was intentional or random.  full story

Slovak Regional Governor spreads rumors about attempted rape on a train, police refute them

23.2.2017 8:09 News server dennikn.sk reports that Marian Kotleba, Regional Governor of the Banská Bystrica Region and chair of a fascist party in Slovakia called the "People's Party Our Slovakia" (Ľudové strany Naše Slovensko - LSNS) announced at a press conference on Tuesday, 14 February that an attempt had been made the previous day to rape a 16-year-old girl on a train traveling across Slovak territory. Slovak MP says the Holocaust is a "fairy tale and a lie", police will not prosecute

8.9.2016 16:12 Milan Mazurek, an MP for Kotleba's People's Party Our Slovakia (ĽSNS) and chair of the party's regional club in Prešov, will not be prosecuted for saying that the Holocaust is a "fairy tale and a lie". "I am not advocating for any regime, but we only know fairy tales and lies about the Third Reich, and six million, and soap made from Jews. What we are taught about Hitler is all lies," Mazurek posted to his Facebook profile.  full story

Slovakia: Fascist politician seeks minute of silence in Parliament for WWII-era leader, doesn't get it

19.4.2016 8:27 Slovak media are reporting that the leader of Slovakia's ultra-right "Kotleba-People's Party Our Slovakia" (K-LSNS), Marián Kotleba, asked the leadership of Parliament on Friday to announce a minute of silence to honor the President of the wartime Slovak State, Jozef Tiso, who was responsible for the deportation of Jewish people from the country. Andrej Danko, the speaker of Parliament who is also the head of the nationalist Slovak National Party (SNS), refused the motion.  full story

Slovakia: Anti-fascists ask Prosecutor-General to dissolve ultra-right party

16.3.2016 22:29 The organizers of the anti-fascist march in the center of Bratislava on 7 March against the ultra-right party called "Kotleba - People's Party Our Slovakia" (LSNS), which was attended by as many as 3 000 people after the party scored victories in the Parliamentary elections, are now calling for the LSNS to be dissolved. They have delivered a letter to Jaromír Čižnár, the Prosecutor-General of the Slovak Republic, asking him to take advantage of his powers and file a motion with the Slovak Supreme Court for Kotleba's party to be dissolved.  full story

Slovak Regional Governor cancels theater production he doesn't like

16.3.2016 14:55 The ultra-right Governor of the Banska Bystrica Region, Marián Kotleba, has ordered the early closure of a theatrical production that he does not like, allegedly because it uses indecent expressions. Slovakia: Thousands protest Kotleba and clerical fascism in Bratislava

7.3.2016 23:40 Slovak Police say more than 1 000 people assembled today in the center of Bratislava before marching through the streets of the capital to protest the ultra-right party of Marian Kotleba, the People's Party Our Slovakia (LSNS), which scored gains in parliamentary elections this past weekend. Czech Republic should consider Nazi electoral gains in Slovakia a warning
