US: New Travel Ban Targets Predominantly Muslim Countries

30.6.2017 14:14 On Thursday 29 June, the United States initiated a modified travel ban that would block most visitors from the predominantly Muslim countries of Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen from entry into the US for the next 90 days. Only “close” relatives of persons already in the US and those with clearly documented business or educational ties to the US are exempt from this new legislation.  full story

Czech Republic: Asylum-seekers on hunger strike, number of injured rising

11.11.2015 21:09 The situation in a refugee facility in the Czech town of Drahonice (Louny district) escalated in the late afternoon today. The Czech Police report that two asylum-seekers have injured themselves and another injured himself after attempting to attack a member of the security forces there.  full story
