4.5.2017 12:23 Romani people from all over Europe who were planning to attend the commemorative ceremony on 13 May at Lety u Písku to honor the memory of the Romani victims of the
Holocaust are reportedly postponing their visit until 24 June. The announcement of the Czech Government that it plans to resign is the reason given for the decision by Benjamin Abtan, head of the European Grassroots Antiracist Movement (EGAM), who originally planned to bring MEPs and MPs to the annual ceremony on 13 May.  full story

Czech NGO found barefoot, hungry children in detention center for asylum-seekers who are being charged money by authorities

16.9.2015 18:03 Czech NGOs report that the conditions in Czech facilities for asylum-seekers are substandard. The situation in detention facilities is especially bad, where asylum-seekers complain that their mobile telephones and money are being confiscated.

Czech Police: Demonstrators meant us when they chanted "black swine"

České Budějovice, 2.7.2013 5:10, (ROMEA) Radomír Heřman, the director of the South Bohemian Regional Police, held a press conference on 1 July 2013 regarding the police intervention required on 29 June when a demonstration spun out of control and turned into an attempted pogrom against Romani people in České Budějovice. Heřman seemingly took up the role of attorney for the racists who gathered there last Saturday, claiming that what they had been shouting had no racist subtext.  full story

Platform for Social Housing meets with Czech Regional Development Minister
