13.1.2018 11:48 The transit authority of the City of Ústí nad Labem (DPMUL) issued a press release yesterday acknowledging that their ticket-checker was not authorized to grab a boy's hand while doing her job on one of the city buses recently. However, the DPMUL is alleging that the boy was vulgar to her and refused to take his backpack off, so they are standing by their employee in the matter. full story

The festival was organized by the local Romani organization Romano jasnica and the main star this year was the Czechoslovak-Romani rapper Rytmus, but lovers of classical Romani folk music came to see their genre represented as well. full story

30.10.2015 23:05 Czech State Prosecutor Hana Řeháková has filed an indictment with the Regional Court in Ústí nad Labem against Marcel Cichý, a Romani member of the Trmice town council who is allegedly involved in a four-member group of drug dealers from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The group worked in the Ústí Region and is said to have sold marijuana and methamphetamine there between October and December of last year. full story

Czech Police charge seven people with transporting drugs from Ústí Region to Slovakia
Prague, 20.1.2015 21:27, (ROMEA) On the basis of collaboration between the Czech and Slovak Police, a total of 15 perpetrators were arrested at the end of 2014 and start of 2015 on the territory of each state through two separate operations targeting the extensive, illegally organized international trade in methamphetamine. The National Anti-Drug Headquarters (Národní protidrogová centrála - NPC) has charged seven people with responsibility for this alleged criminal drug activity, including the export of marijuana and methamphetamine through several courier routes from the Ústí Region to eastern Slovakia. full story

Ústí nad Labem, 15.1.2015 16:11, (ROMEA) News server iDNES.cz reports that detectives have charged Marcel Cichý, a local councilor and teacher at a primary school in Trmice, with distributing drugs. Cichý and other Romani candidates in the "Together for Trmice" (Independent Choice) movement won election to the local council last October with 19.22 % of the vote, ending up in second place and taking three seats. full story
