Commentary: Is Roma unemployment a cause or an effect?

Slovakia: Organic farm hiring Roma appreciated abroad, but not by the state

Rudlov u Vranově nad Topľou, Slovakia, 19.12.2013 17:35, (ROMEA) News server Romovia.sme.sk reports that yesterday the US Chamber of Commerce expressed its appreciation for an organic farm in the Slovak village of Rudlov u Vranově nad Topľou that is staffed by Romani people. Slovakia: Romani woman couldn't find job, now owns her own store

Senator Okamura: "The Czech Republic cannot afford social immigrants"

Czech Republic: Preparatory committee for new Romani Democratic Party meets

Prague, 14.5.2013 6:59, (ROMEA) The Mediafax agency reports that Romani people in the Czech Republic are preparing to establish a new political party, the Romani Democratic Party (Romská demokratická strana – RDS). Miroslav Tancoš, the head of the party’s preparatory committee, said the group met in Prague on 11 May 2013 and intends to register with the Czech Interior Ministry this week.  full story

Czech Republic: Ostrava starts social housing program

Detva, Slovensko, 9.2.2013 19:22, (ROMEA) In the Czech Republic they've elected a president. Lawsuits are being planned against the Slovak President. In Syria the murder continues. In Somalia 29 000 children have died of hunger, while another 300 000 are expected to die there soon. The world is spinning in a crazy dance and the economic crisis is conducting the music, but Slovakia lives for its own domestic problems. No one here is much interested in the war in Syria or famine somewhere in Africa.  full story
