16.11.2018 12:46 On Monday, 12 November, news server Romea.cz interviewed the chair of the Committee for the Redress of the Roma Holocaust in the Czech Republic (VPORH), Čeněk Růžička, at the site of the archaeological probes into what have been assumed to be mass burial pits for the former prisoners of the WWII-era concentration camp at Lety. An international research team under the direction of Pavel Vařeka from the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň has been performing the very first non-invasive archaeological probe ever near the memorial currently at the site.  full story

The 34-year-old graduated in Romani Studies from the Faculty of Arts at Charles University and for more than 10 years has been dedicated to educating social workers, students and teachers, most frequently on the subject of Romani people's sociocultural specificities and on how to break down prejudices and stereotypes  full story

The eight-part series tells the story of a fictional small Czech town of "Buchnov" where a young Romani man named Denis has been brutally murdered. 7.10.2018 14:43 Speaking on Friday afternoon after casting his ballot, Czech President Miloš Zeman made remarks that insulted Romani people in the Czech Republic yet again, his second such remark that day and the third in 10 days. Remarking that "Nazism was a long time ago", he dismissed the 20th-century suffering of Romani people - which is the reason many Romani people today do not self-identify themselves as Romani to Czech state authorities during the census.  full story

18.6.2018 15:29 The Vice-Mayor of the central municipal department in the city of Ústí nad Labem, Karel Karika, told news server Romea.cz during the 14 June demonstration against the closure of the residential hotels there that he will arrange accommodation for all inhabitants of the Klíšská residential hotel by the end of this month. "We warned about this situation one year ago, we were the only movement in Ústí to disagree with announcing zones where housing benefits are not able to be disbursed," Karika told ROMEA TV.  full story
