European Commission presents new form of EU Social Funds after 2020

The European Commission (EC) has presented its proposal for the new form of the funds to support the European Union's social dimension after 2020. The main fund is the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), through which, between 2021 and 2027, the EC is planning to allocate EUR 101.2 billion.

Czech children's home turns Prague streets into summer camp, complete with parcour, this Thursday

On Thursday, 7 June the playground near the Vinohradská vodárna tram stop in Prague will be transformed during the afternoon into a place of amusement and motivation, called "Stav Beztíže" ("The Weightless State") where parcours masters from the In Motion Academy, rappers Rest & DJ Herby, singer Jan Bendig and other performers will encourage children to pursue their dreams, to minimize the risks of spending time outdoors on the local streets, and to spend their free time meaningfully during the summer. How far one can go doing what one enjoys will be demonstrated by the performing artists and athletes.

Czech Govt has yet to release report stating that the SPD party poses more of a threat than extremists do

The next annual report from the Czech Interior Ministry about extremism is anticipated to criticize the "Freedom and Direct Democracy" (SPD) movement, which is seated in Parliament. Romani music celebrity supports "Go For Your Dream" project at Czech shopping centers

Slovakia: Filipino attempts to prevent harassment of women, harasser kicks him to death

A wave of outrage has been sparked in Slovakia by the case of 28-year-old Juraj H. from Dunajská Streda, who kicked a Filipino man to death in the center of Bratislava. The 36-year-old immigrant was attempting to protect female coworkers of his from being harassed by the assailant.

German Chancellor marks 25th anniversary of xenophobic arson: "Right-wing extremism is the shame of the country"

Right-wing extremism is still alive today and is the shame of Germany. That was the message of German Chancellor Angela Merkel on 29 May in Düsseldorf during a commemoration event for the three children and two young women who died 25 years ago during an arson attack on the home of a Turkish family in what was then the West German town of Solingen.

Residential hotels closing in Czech city, Romani tenants have yet to find substitute accommodation
