Czech Police: Attackers of Slovak man shouted "Antifa Praha"

Police officers in Prague are searching for unidentified perpetrators who allegedly assaulted a man at the Florenc bus station after he disembarked there last month. Police say the assailants shouted "Antifa Praha" several times during the attack. The man was hospitalized as a result of the beating.

"On Friday 15 February, just after 2 PM, the bus from Bratislava arrived at the Florenc station. A young couple from Slovakia were on the bus. When they disembarked, they passed by four young men coming from the station driveway. The four people split up into two pairs and one man punched the 35-year-old Slovak man in the head. A second assailant joined him at that moment and both of them started beating him with such force that the victim ended up on the ground. Because the pair shouted the slogan ‘Antifa Praha’ during the assault, detectives are collaborating on the case with their colleagues involved in monitoring extremism," police spokesperson Jana Rösslerová said.

The whole attack lasted just a few seconds and both assailants immediately fled the bus station. Other passengers called an ambulance for the injured man, which took him to hospital for treatment, where he underwent a medical intervention. After his treatment the injured man traveled back to Slovakia. Police are still waiting to receive a medical report on which to base their legal qualification of the incident.

Detectives from the third police district have taken over the case and have managed to secure CCTV recordings capturing not just the incident, but the assailants as well. They are asking the public for help in finding not just the four men involved, but also anyone who witnessed this incident.

Police are particularly interested in finding the two assailants. One is an unidentified man about 30 years old, about 175 cm tall and of medium build. He was wearing a red cap, dark jeans and a khaki winter coat without a hood. The other was wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident and a light-colored cap. Any information about these men can be reported to police officers by calling emergency line 158 or any station of the Police of the Czech Republic.
