The family of Stanislav Tomáš, who passed away on 19 June for reasons that have yet to be explained after an intervention against him by police officers, published his obituary yesterday confirming that his funeral will take place on Saturday, 24 July 2021 at 10 AM in the Church of Saint John the Baptist (kostel sv. Jana Křtitele) on Zámecké náměstí in Teplice, Czech Republic. “The funeral is open to the public and will include a Catholic mass. The family invites you to attend and honor the memory of the deceased,” said his sister Simona Tomášová.

The obituary includes the following Biblical passage, attributed to Jesus Christ (Matthew 9:9-13): “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but the sinners.”

The slogan “Justice for Stanislav” is at the bottom of the obituary. Funds for the funeral were donated in part by individuals who contributed through the account of the Czech Helsinki Committee; individuals and non-profit organizations abroad also contributed.
