Romani sculptor Ondřej Gadžor (9 July 1956 – 19 October 2013) passed away suddenly in his home in the Krásná nad Hornádom municipal department of Košice in Slovakia. The artist’s family confirmed his death to the editors of Romano nevo ľil on 21 October.

Mr Gadžor began dedicating himself to sculpture in wood at the age of 24. The sculptor Vojtěch Löffler helped him go deeper into the world of the fine arts.

Mr Gadžor’s first solo exhibition was in the Malokarpatské Museum in Pezinok (opened on 5 November 1999) under the auspices of Slovak President Rudolf Schuster; he also presented his work in Košice during its Days of Arts and Crafts.  In 2002 the Jekhetane Spolu association, which publishes Romano nevo l’il, presented Mr Gadžor’s artistic creations at an exhibition of Romani art in Slovakia at the National Cultural Center in Bratislava called "MAĽUJEME PRE LÁSKU / ČITRANAS PERDAL O KAMIBEN / WE ARE PAINTING FOR LOVE".

Mr Gadžor worked in bone, marble, stone, wood and other materials. He used quality oak from ordinary furniture for the production of  his small sculptures.
