Some 120 Roma Children In Salaj Vaccinated For Polio

Public Health Authority in Salaj developed a vaccination campaign for poliomielitis in Pusta Vale, Salaj county, central Romania. The largest Roma community of over one hundred persons lives in this area.
Deputy director with ASP Salaj, Sanda Stanca, said Monday, April 23, the vaccination for polio was part of a campaign called “European Week of Vaccination.”
Sanda Stanca also said that 120 Roma children up to 6-year old were vaccinated in Pusta Vale. Salaj county was not among the 4 counties countrywide designated to develop vaccination campaigns in the disadvantaged areas.
